About SdB+PM Forum

SdB+PM Forum was founded in May, 2005, by Serge de Bock, PMP. Serge had a vision of a place where experienced project managers – from all over the world – could discuss project management.

Starting with a group using the free services offered by Yahoo!, Serge also wanted this group of project managers to be networkers. So he required that the members also belong to LinkedIn – an online networking group with free membership available.

Serge’s original goal was to have 60 members in the group. As the membership numbers flew past that goal, Serge realized how many experienced project managers needed a place to talk about their passion – project management.

Now, with several hundred members, Serge and the volunteer moderators have made the move to a separate website for the open-source bulletin board that is called SdB+PM Forum. Right now, the webhosting service is free, as is the open-source software.

We have no way of knowing if the webhosting will remain free, or if the forum will grow so large that we have to move it to a paid server. Have you seen the Amazon ads on this forum? Amazon pays us a small commission for each time someone uses a link on our forum to buy something from Amazon. We don’t receive anything for the clicks on the links – only if something is actually purchased.

We plan to add more revenue generating systems to the forum in the near future. We believe that these systems will generate enough revenue – over time – to help us pay for operating the forum.

As a member of this community, we’re asking for your help also. This forum can evolve into a place for more than conversation. One of the ideas that the moderators have been kicking around includes an ebook publishing and marketing service. If that sounds like something that would be valuable to you, please let us know.

Any new service that the forum provides will require money. The publishing and marketing service would require software and a marketing budget. We need your help to fund this type of service.

SdB+PM Forum is free, and one of our main goals is to make sure membership remains free. Your donation will help make sure that there is no charge to join or to remain a member of this forum.
